Yoga for Migraines
Yoga has long been used as a preventive measure for headaches and migraines. Until recently, most of the evidence for using yoga this way was anecdotal, but a recent study at the University of Rajasthan in India is giving migraine sufferers some concrete proof of the effectiveness of yoga in treating migraines. Please join Amy Pancake for this gentle yoga workshop designed for migraine sufferers. You will go home with a personalized yoga routine to use as one more effective tool to help prevent and lessen the severity of migraine headaches. Held on Saturday, August 16th from 2 - 4:30 p.m. Cost is $35.
Teens Seeking Balance
Balance is a key objective in yoga as well as in life. In preparation for a new school year, now is the perfect time for teens to seek balance in body, mind and spirit. With the high demands and expectations placed on them, teens desperately need to develop the tools and body awareness to quiet the mind, control the breath and thus begin to control their reactions to the everyday stressors in their life.
In this two-hour workshop, teens will take a personal inventory to see areas of their life that are in balance as well as out-of-balance. Through the practice of breathwork and active asana they will gain awareness of their own inner wisdom and begin to trust their own intuition. Teens will leave the workshop with a road map to help them navigate the twists, turns, hills and valleys in their constantly changing lives as they gain tools to bring more balance into their daily lives. Class for teens ages 13 - 18. Taught by Amy Younkman on Saturday, August 23rd from 2 - 4 p.m.
